On Tuesday, May 12, 2026, the Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University, led by Associate Professor Dr. Thongchai Fongsamootr, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, welcomed a delegation from CGIA Group, Canada, on the occasion of their visit to the Faculty. The visit aimed to discuss potential collaboration in educational development and included a demonstration of artificial intelligence technologies designed to support student learning. The meeting was held at Gear 202 Meeting Room, Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University.

The discussion aimed to exchange ideas on institutional development toward AI readiness, the integration of AI into university curricula and operations, as well as the exploration of opportunities to establish an AI School/Academy and build networks of AI and IT partners in Thailand.

During the visit, CGIA Group presented and demonstrated key educational technologies, including AI-Powered LMS, a next-generation learning management system that can personalize students’ learning pathways in real time; AI Agent & AI Mentor, an intelligent assistant system that provides 24-hour support for learning and student supervision; and Analytical Data Management, a data management and analytics tool that transforms institutional data into strategic insights to support decision-making at the faculty level.

The delegation from CGIA Group consisted of Dr. Francis Pang, Chairman of CGIA Group (Canada); Mr. Alan Troung, Executive Director of CGIA Group (Canada); Mr. Richard Li, Program Director of CGIA Group (China); and Mr.Plato Leung Business Development Manager, Everon Learning Solutions

Also joining the meeting from the Faculty of Engineering were Assistant Professor Dr. Faifan Tantakitti, Assistant Dean and Deputy Director of the Chiang Mai International Engineering School; Assistant Professor Dr. Navadon Khunlertgit, Head of the Department of Computer Engineering; and Assistant Professor Dr. Nat Vorayos, lecturer at the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

This visit marks another important opportunity to promote international collaboration in educational technology and support the development of the Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University, toward becoming an AI-ready educational institution. It also contributes to enhancing teaching and learning, institutional management, and future educational innovation
