New Student Orientation With CM-IES 2026

The Chiang Mai International Engineering School (CM-IES), Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University, organized the New Student Orientation for 2026 on 16 June 2026 at Slope EG3-001 to welcome new students to the International Engineering Programs. The event aimed to help new students adjust to the university’s academic and cultural community appropriately, while also gaining an understanding of essential information related to their studies and campus life.
During the event, Assistant Professor Dr Korrakot Yaibuathet Tippayawong, Director of the Chiang Mai International Engineering School, delivered the opening remarks and welcomed the new students. He emphasized the importance of the transition from high school to university, as well as preparing for academic life, time management, and adapting to a diverse learning environment.
After that, CM-IES staff, together with program chairs and representatives from the International Engineering Programs, provided key information about the programs, course registration, and other important details that new students should be aware of. The program representatives who participated included:
- Assistant Professor Dr Nirand Pisutha-Arnond, Program Chair, Industrial Engineering and Logistics Management
- Associate Professor Dr Patiwet Wuttisarnwattana, Program Chair, Information Systems and Network Engineering
- Assistant Professor Dr Pruk Aggarangsi, Program Chair, Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Project Management
- Dr Warakorn Tantrapongsaton, faculty member from Civil Engineering (International Program)
- Assistant Professor Dr. Witsarut Achariyaviriya, faculty member from Electrical Engineering
- Assistant Professor Dr Chawannat Jaroenkhasemmeesuk, faculty member of the Integrated and Multi-disciplinary Engineering Program
In addition, ice-breaking activities were arranged to help new students adapt to their new environment and build positive relationships with classmates, faculty members, and university staff. The event concluded with a meeting between students and their academic advisors, providing an opportunity for discussion, guidance, and preparation before beginning their university studies.
