            on June 19, 2026, The Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University, led by the Dean, Assoc. Prof. Thongchai Fongsamootr Ph.D., along with the Vice Deans, Assistant Professor Dr. Chatchawan Chaichana and Associate Professor Pawarut Jongchansitto, Ph.D., the Head of the Department of Computer Engineering, Assistant Professor Dr. Navadon Khunlertkit, and the Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Associate Professor Dr. Watchapon Rojanaratanangkule, jointly welcome The representatives from IMT Atlantique—a prestigious French institution ranked 351–400 in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings for Engineering—included Mr. Stéphane Roy, Director of International Affairs, and Prof. Yves ANDRES, Head of the Department of Energy Systems and Environment.

The discussion focused on establishing robust academic partnerships and exploring future collaboration opportunities between the two universities. Key areas of mutual interest included international credit transfers, student and staff mobility programs, dual-degree initiatives, and joint research collaborations, particularly in the fields of advanced computer engineering, mechanical systems, and sustainable energy and environment.

This visiting milestone marks a significant step forward for CMU Engineering in broadening its global network, enhancing international academic standards, and fostering future-ready engineers through cross-cultural and high-impact educational exchanges with leading European institutions.
