Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University Welcomes Delegation from University of New South Wales, Australia, for Academic Collaboration Discussions

On Tuesday, 23 March 2026, the Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University, led by the Dean, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thongchai Fongsamootr, along with the Vice Deans, Asst. Prof. Dr.Chatchawan Chaichana and Asst. Prof. Dr. Korrakot Yaibuathet Tippayawong, Assistant to the dean, Assoc. Prof. Dr.Pana Suttakul and the Head of the Department of Environmental Engineering, Assoc. Prof. Dr.Naphat Jakrawatana, warmly welcomed a five-member delegation from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia. The distinguished visitors included Prof. Kiri Murphy (Head of International Development – Engineering), Prof. Pierre Le-Clech (Associate Dean International, Professor of Chemical Engineering), Prof. Denis O’Carroll (Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering), Prof. Tara Hamilton (Associate Professor, Computer Science and Engineering), and Ms. Kakanang Kittikovit (Country Manager for Thailand).
The visit aimed to discuss potential academic collaboration, including student exchange programs and joint research initiatives, particularly with the Department of Environmental Engineering. Both parties also explored opportunities to expand collaboration with the Departments of Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering. The meeting was held at Gear Room 201, Faculty of Engineering Office Building, Chiang Mai University.
During the discussion, both institutions exchanged information on their academic structures, teaching and learning approaches, as well as laboratory facilities and research activities across relevant fields.
