Faculty of Engineering, CMU Signs Memorandum of Understanding with the Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Saga University for the Establishment of a Sandwich Program

On May 11, 2026, the Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Saga University for the establishment of a Sandwich Program. The signing ceremony was held at Gear 202 Meeting Room, Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University, and was conducted via Zoom Meeting. The objective of this collaboration is to jointly establish a Sandwich Program (SP) and provide co-supervision for graduate students from both institutions.
The ceremony was honored by the presence of Associate Professor Dr. Thongchai Fongsamootr, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University, and Assistant Professor Dr. Piyapong Wongmatar, Deputy Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, together with Professor Kazuya Sato, Dean of the Graduate School, and the executive team from the Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Saga University.
This agreement covers academic collaboration in organizing exchange programs between the two institutions, with a strong emphasis on gaining experience through international collaboration and conducting research in highly specialized laboratory environments. In the initial phase, the collaboration will focus on Urban Intelligence Design, with plans to expand into other academic fields in the future, including the development of joint programs between the two institutions.
