Engineering CMU × GoodWe Discuss CollaborationFocusing on Student Capacity Building and Hands-on Learning in Clean Energy

On 26 January 2026, from 3:30–4:30 p.m., the Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University held a meeting to discuss collaboration with GoodWe (Thailand) Co., Ltd. at Gear Room 201, Chairatchakarn Building, Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University. Executives, faculty members, and staff from both parties attended the meeting.
The meeting was chaired by Associate Professor Dr. Thongchai Fongsamootr, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, who welcomed representatives from GoodWe from both Thailand and the People’s Republic of China, followed by an exchange of information to foster mutual understanding.
On this occasion, GoodWe presented an overview of the company and its global business direction, highlighting solar energy technologies and smart energy solutions encompassing inverters, energy storage systems, and intelligent energy management platforms—reflecting the company’s strong commitment to sustainable energy development.
The discussion focused on collaboration in student capacity building through knowledge transfer, training programs, and short- and long-term internship opportunities to enhance hands-on learning experiences and career prospects, particularly for electrical engineering students. Both parties agreed to proceed with the preparation of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) as a framework for future collaboration. This marks an important step in strengthening partnerships with the clean energy industry and advancing sustainable engineering workforce development.
