Engineering CMU Welcomes Professor Dr. Markus Kley from Aalen University of Applied Sciences, Germany
On December 23, 2025, the Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Korrakot Yaibuathet Tippayawong, Vice Dean, welcomed a delegate from Aalen University of Applied Sciences, Federal Republic of Germany, a leading university renowned for excellence in engineering, technology, and applied research. The meeting aimed to explore avenues for academic collaboration and student exchange. Faculty members participating in the discussion included:

On this occasion, Professor Dr. Markus Kley, the delegate from Aalen University of Applied Sciences, delivered a lecture entitled “Drive Line Technology and AI” at Room 201, Chiang Mai International Engineering School, 30th Anniversary Building, for students and interested participants.
Aalen University of Applied Sciences is a practice-oriented institution with strong expertise in engineering, technology, and applied research, particularly in optics, photonics, mechatronics, materials science, and Industry 4.0, areas that closely align with the mission and strategic direction of the Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University.
The discussion focused on establishing academic cooperation agreements, student exchange programs, curriculum information exchange in engineering and technology, and future academic staff exchange. The visit also included tours of departments and laboratories within Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Engineering Program, which features specialized expertise.
This meeting represents an important step in expanding academic collaboration between the two institutions, with student exchange envisioned as a key mechanism for enhancing international learning experiences and serving as a starting point for joint research and innovation in engineering and related fields, ultimately contributing to the sustainable development of students’ and staff’s capabilities at both institutions.
