Faculty of Engineering, CMU Participates in the Opening Ceremony of Chiang Mai University Liaison Center in Beijing, Strengthening International Collaboration

The Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University, participated in the opening ceremony of the Chiang Mai University Liaison Center in Beijing, P.R. China, on April 10, 2026, joining with an exhibition booth to showcase the Faculty’s capabilities in education, research, and innovation on the international stage.
At the event, the faculty presented six international undergraduate programs designed to meet the demands of future industries, along with its extensive network of global academic partnerships. The exhibition attracted strong interest from representatives of leading universities and organizations across China.
The delegation was led by Associate Professor Dr. Thongchai Fongsamootr, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, accompanied by Vice Deans — Assistant Professor Dr. Chatchawan Chaichana and Assistant Professor Dr. Korrakot Yaibuathet Tippayawong, who also serves as Director of the Chiang Mai International Engineering School (CM-IES). Also in attendance were Associate Professor Dr. Thoranis Deethayat, Assistant Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering (Academic Affairs), and Miss Usanee Pongsawaleesri, Head of Office of CM-IES.
This participation marks another important step in strengthening academic and research collaboration with leading institutions in China, reflecting Chiang Mai University’s proactive approach to expanding international partnerships and its commitment to becoming a sustainable regional hub for engineering and innovation.
