Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University Welcomes Delegates from Saga University for Academic Collaboration Discussions
On Tuesday, March 10, 2026, the Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University, led by Assoc. Prof. Thongchai Fongsamootr, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Asst. Prof. Dr. Chatchawan Chaichana, Vice Dean; and Asst. Prof. Dr. Preda Pichayapan, Head of the Civil Engineering Department, welcomed two delegates from the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Saga University: Professor Dr. Arch. Nobuo Mishima and Professor Ryutaro Goto, along with Asst. Prof. Dr. Umpiga Shummadtayar, Assistant to the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture. The purpose of the visit was to discuss potential academic collaboration and student exchange opportunities under the Sandwich Program in Civil Engineering (Urban Intelligence Design).
During the visit, both parties exchanged ideas on student exchange initiatives aimed at enhancing learning experiences and providing opportunities for knowledge sharing in related academic fields. They also discussed research collaboration and explored possibilities for expanding future cooperation, including the development of Joint Degree and Double Degree programs between the two institutions.
