Chiang Mai University’s Faculty of Engineering, through the Chiang Mai International Engineering School, is hosting the International Workshop on AI and Sustainability Engineering from 17 to 19 November 2025 at the SMC Hub, Faculty of Engineering. The opening ceremony was presided over by Assistant Professor Dr. Korrakot Yaibuathet Tippayawong, Associate Dean and Director of the International Engineering Education Center.

The workshop blends academic insight with real-world application through lectures and hands-on sessions, focusing on data analysis, introductory programming, and translating analytical results into informed decision-making, supported by real-world case studies.

The event welcomes contributions from partner institutions in India and Italy, including the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar, the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, and the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, alongside faculty from Chiang Mai University. Participants also include students from Montanuniversität Leoben (Austria), Maejo University, and Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna.

Aimed at expanding learning opportunities in Artificial Intelligence and Sustainability Engineering for university students across Northern Thailand—especially in Chiang Mai—the workshop is open to learners beyond the Faculty of Engineering. It seeks to foster awareness, build practical competencies, and strengthen academic–industry readiness for real-world impact.
