Mechanical Engineering Department CMU Visits Norway and Estonia
From October 13 to 24, 2025, representatives from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University, including Associate Professor Dr. Woradej Manosroi, ECO-Wind Project Coordinator, and Assistant Professor Dr. Arpiruk Hokpunna, visited the Department of Engineering Science at the University of Agder, Norway, and the Department of Electrical Power Engineering and Mechatronics at Tallinn University of Technology, Estonia.
The visits aimed to explore opportunities for collaboration in research, academic exchange, and joint activities, including the upcoming Wind Turbine Maintenance Workshop at the Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University, scheduled for December 1–2, 2025. In addition, the discussions focused on future student exchange programs to strengthen international academic networks.
The ECO-Wind Project objective is to enhance the utilization of wind energy through improved maintenance practices in Thailand and Vietnam. Supported by Erasmus+ funding, the project seeks to address challenges in wind turbine maintenance, increase wind energy capacity, and contribute to sustainable energy development in the region.
