Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University and GW Advanced Engineering Co., Ltd. Sign MOU to Drive Workforce Development in Robotics and Automation

On September 9, 2026, at the Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University, an official Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony was held between the Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University, and GW Advanced Engineering Co., Ltd. The agreement was signed by Assoc. Prof. Thongchai Fongsamootr, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, accompanied by Asst. Prof. Dr. Pinyo Puangmali, Assistant Dean, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Watchapon Rojanaratanangkule, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and Dr. Autanan Wannachai, Program Chair of the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Engineering Program. Representing the company was Mr. Krissanai Inprom, Education Manager, accompanied by Ms. Nithinan Pengboot, Chief Engineer. The collaboration aims to foster academic cooperation, academic services, knowledge exchange, and curriculum development, laying a sustainable foundation for education. Under this 3-year framework, both parties will collaborate on developing degree, non-degree, and online courses supporting the Credit Bank system, while providing experts in industrial robotics, humanoid robotics, and automation to serve as guest lecturers. Furthermore, the partnership supports practical workshops, equipment sharing, and student internships or cooperative education to cultivate a high-competency workforce that meets industrial demands, aligning with the Faculty of Engineering’s mission to be a leading educational institution dedicated to developing engineers and innovators who create sustainable value for global society.
