The Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thongchai Fongsamootr, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, together with Asst. Prof. Dr. Korrakot Yaibuathet Tippayawong, Vice Dean; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Watchapon Rojanaratanangkule, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thoranis Deethayat, Assistant Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering (Academic Affairs), welcomed executives and faculty members from Kunming University of Science and Technology (KUST), People\u2019s Republic of China, at Mom Luang Pin Malakul Meeting Room, University Office, Chiang Mai University, on Monday, 22 June 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On this occasion, Asst. Prof. Chirawath Phatsara, Ph.D., Assistant to the President of Chiang Mai University, also joined the welcoming session for Prof. Dr. Liu Dianwen, Vice President of Kunming University of Science and Technology, together with 4 delegates from KUST:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Prof. Dr. Liu Xiang, Vice Dean, Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering
\u2022 Prof. Dr. Zhu Xing, Deputy Director, Division of General Affairs Administration of Yunnan Institute for Advanced Studies
\u2022 Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zhang Jinmei, International Cooperation Division, China-Laos Institute of Engineering and Technology<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The purpose of this visit was to pay a courtesy visit to Chiang Mai University, exchange perspectives on educational development, and discuss potential academic collaboration between the two institutions. Key areas of discussion included research collaboration, student and staff exchange, as well as the development of a Master Dual-Degree Program in potential fields of mutual interest, such as New Energy, Material Engineering, and Robotics Engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, the delegates also visited the Energy Harvesting and Storage Laboratory and the Motion and Control Laboratory under the Department of Mechanical Engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This visit marks another important step in strengthening international academic collaboration and fostering long-term relations between Chiang Mai University, and Kunming University of Science and Technology, People\u2019s Republic of China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
