\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A delegation from the Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Korrakot Yaibuathet Tippayawong<\/em><\/strong>, Vice Dean and Director of Chiang Mai International Engineering School (CM-IES), along with Asst. Prof. Dr. Faifan Tantakitti<\/em><\/strong>, Assistant Dean and Deputy Director of CM-IES, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Prathana Jaiphong<\/em><\/strong> from the Faculty of Science, visited Curtin University in Perth, Australia from April 27\u201330, 2025, to discuss academic collaboration under the Curtin\u2013CMU Unified Program, a key initiative under the Seed International Initiative for the fiscal year 2024.<\/p>

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The primary objective of this visit was to collaboratively develop a joint curriculum and design a structured learning pathway for students. The delegation held discussions with the Faculty of Science & Engineering at Curtin University to explore the development of joint programs in Electrical, Robotics, Industrial, Mechanical, and Civil Engineering. A key highlight was the advancement of the “Unified Engineering Program\u201d <\/strong>a five-year integrated bachelor’s and master’s degree program. This program stands out by offering students the opportunity to study and live abroad for 2.5 years, fully immersed in an international academic environment. The discussions made significant progress, and the program structure is now clearly defined and ready to be implemented in the near future.<\/p>

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In addition, the CMU delegation explored potential collaborations with Curtin\u2019s Faculty of Humanities on the Master of Project Management program, and with the Faculty of Business and Law on the Master of Innovation and Entrepreneurship program. They also engaged with Curtin\u2019s Global Student Mobility Liaison to exchange ideas on promoting student exchange initiatives, both short-term cultural programs and long-term semester exchanges, aiming to provide students at both universities with diverse and enriching learning experiences.<\/p>

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The visit also left a lasting impression on the CMU delegation, thanks to the welcoming atmosphere and refreshing climate of Perth\u2014recognized as one of the cities with the best air quality in the world year-round. With a lower cost of living than major cities like Melbourne and Sydney, and a peaceful, friendly environment, Perth is an ideal destination for living and studying abroad.<\/p>
